At 485 metres above
sea level, between the high Alps and the Mediterranean,
Sisteron is an unusual town on account of its history,
its beauty, its light and its colours. It really
does deserve its title of "Pearl of Upper Provence".
Sisteron, which is
famous for its citadel, which dominates the old
town, for its ramparts and fortifications, the Pont
de la Baume and the Cluse de La Durance, is a haven
