Senez,
Treasure of the Alpes de Haute-Provence

Senez
has been known since the IInd century, thanks to the
Greek geographer Ptolemy. In the Vth century, the
Romains places Senez at the head of a bishopric. In
the IXth century, Senez suffered atrociously when
the Saracens invaded Provence. To defend themselves,
the inhabitants built a stronghold on a rocky hillock
called "la Roche" (the Rock)
